JOB DESCRIPTION

More Smiles Wisconsin is looking for a compassionate dentist who has an interest in community health. Since 2009, More Smiles Wisconsin, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dental clinic, has been committed to providing affordable dental care to low-income residents in South Central Wisconsin living in Dane and surrounding counties. Our staff and volunteers work to reduce pain for veterans, prevent children from missing school, restore confidence to the unemployed, remove worry from struggling families, and provide hope to the homeless.

Position Purpose

The General Dentist is responsible for the direct provision of high quality dental care and treatment for More Smiles Wisconsin patients.

This is a full-time position; 4 days per week.

 

Position Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct dental care and treatment for patients including diagnostic, preventive, and restorative services

  • Provide care in a manner that effectively and positively approaches a patient’s needs and concerns; including disabled or special needs patients

  • Provide dental education and training and in-services when appropriate to staff, students, dentists, and volunteers

  • Compliance with OSHA guidelines

  • Maintains patient confidentiality with HIPAA written and verbal information

  • Maintains and keeps accurate clinical dental records using a paperless dental software charting system

 

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited dental school with D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree

  • License to practice dentistry in the State of Wisconsin

  • National Provider Identifier Number

  • CPR Certification

  • Valid U.S. Driver's License

  • WI-Medicaid Provider Number (or willingness to obtain one within first 30 days of employment)

 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Quality patient relations with a diverse group of patients, including children, elderly, and those with special needs

  • An understanding and compassion for those affected by poverty

  • Proficiency with simple extractions

  • Eaglesoft dental software experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communications, critical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Fostering a positive environment committed to teamwork and collaboration with staff and volunteers
